The popular s’Aigua Blanca beach, known for its crystal-clear waters and secluded location in northern Ibiza, will not have any lifeguard or municipal services throughout the summer. This decision was made by the Santa Eulària des Ríu Town Hall, which has classified the beach as unsupervised.

No Municipal Services

The hidden beach, situated in the parish of Sant Carles de Peralta, will no longer be monitored by the Red Cross. Consequently, all municipal service elements previously present at the site have been removed.

Risk Assessment and Precautions

While the Town Hall acknowledges that s’Aigua Blanca is generally considered a low-risk beach in terms of sea conditions, it has issued warnings urging visitors to exercise extreme caution. The surrounding environment, particularly the cliff areas, poses a significant risk. Residents and tourists are advised to stay clear of the cliff edges and to strictly adhere to all existing signage. This is especially important in areas marked as prone to rockfalls, a recurring issue during past summer seasons.

Road Access Restricted

Access for vehicles to the beach will also remain closed.

Past Incidents and Safety Measures

In previous years, safety concerns have led to temporary closures of s’Aigua Blanca. In July 2023, the beach was provisionally shut down due to the risk of rockfalls. This occurred when the sea eroded the sand line, causing waves to break directly against the cliff walls. In the summer of 2022, a section of the coastline was closed due to falling rocks. To mitigate visitor numbers, the Town Hall decided not to authorize any beach concession elements that year.

Emergency Procedures

For any incidents or emergencies at s’Aigua Blanca, visitors are instructed to contact the Guardia Civil or dial the emergency number 112.
