But there you go, sometimes it’s battles, the match demanded that, and there you go, we fought a battle, we won the battle, 1-0, and we are qualified.”

The short turnaround between matches in the tournament also impacted player availability, with Aurelien Tchouameni missing the game due to a knock. The reduced rest period, now five days compared to nearly a week during the group stage, will be a factor for teams as the tournament progresses.
