Real Madrid’s long-serving president, Florentino Pérez, has delivered his inaugural speech following his re-election to the club’s top office. The address, made shortly before midnight on June 7, 2026, took place at his election headquarters, where he met with members of the media to share his initial thoughts after securing another term.

Presidential Victory Confirmed

The election results officially confirmed Florentino Pérez as the winner, marking his continued leadership of the Spanish giants. The announcement was met with cheers of “Presidente!” from those present. Pérez began his speech by acknowledging the significance of the day for the Real Madrid fanbase, highlighting that the club had seen victories across all age groups during the electoral process.

Jose Mourinho’s Return

A key announcement from Pérez’s speech was the confirmation of Jose Mourinho’s return to the club in an official capacity. While the exact nature of Mourinho’s role was not fully detailed in the initial report, his presence alongside Pérez during the introduction and the subsequent confirmation signal a significant development for Real Madrid. Mourinho, a figure with a storied past at the club, is expected to bring his considerable experience back to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Addressing Election Irregularities

Pérez also addressed the issue of annulled votes during the election. He stated that the club intends to appeal the decisions that led to these votes being invalidated. This move indicates a commitment to ensuring the complete and accurate representation of the electorate’s will in the presidential election process.

Gratitude and Future Outlook

The Real Madrid president expressed his gratitude to all members who participated in the voting process. He emphasized that it had been a great day for “madridismo,” the collective term for the club’s supporters and ethos. While the speech provided an immediate reaction to the election outcome, it also set the stage for future plans and initiatives under his renewed presidency. The focus now shifts to how Pérez and his administration will build upon this electoral success and integrate new personnel, such as Mourinho, into the club’s operational structure.

The implications for Real Madrid are substantial. Florentino Pérez’s presidency has historically been associated with periods of significant investment in the playing squad and a strong focus on commercial growth. The return of Jose Mourinho, a manager known for his demanding style and trophy-laden spells, could signal a renewed ambition on the pitch, potentially impacting transfer strategies and managerial appointments in the near future. The club’s supporters will be keen to see how these developments translate into on-field success in the upcoming seasons.
