A match preview should answer more than who plays
Team news, expected lineups, injuries, tactical questions and table context make a preview useful.

Before kick-off
A strong preview starts with the competition, table context, recent form, injury news, suspension risk and the tactical question that could decide the match.
Lineups and uncertainty
Expected lineups must be labelled as expected unless official team sheets are published. Injury updates should be attributed to clubs, managers or reliable reporters.
After the match
The preview should connect to the report, player ratings, table update and any live coverage that follows.
