Marcelo Brozovic has officially joined Qatari club Al-Sadd, signing a contract that runs until 2027. The Croatian midfielder, who became a free agent after his three-year spell at Al-Nassr ended, returns to action in the Middle East and will wear the number 77 shirt — the same number he wore during his long and successful stint at Inter Milan.

The move was confirmed by Al-Sadd through their official channels, with the club stating: “Al-Sadd announces officially the signing of Croatian player Marcelo Brozovic until 2027 to join the first team.” Brozovic, 33, brings a wealth of experience from Serie A, where he spent eight seasons with Inter, winning the Scudetto in 2021 and reaching the Champions League final in 2023. He also played a key role for Croatia at international level, helping them reach the 2018 World Cup final and securing third place in 2022.

Brozovic is not the only former Serie A star heading to Doha. He joins Alessio Romagnoli, the former AC Milan and Lazio defender, who moved to Al-Sadd earlier in the same transfer window. The pair will now line up together in a side that has started the Qatar Stars League season in dominant fashion: four wins from four matches, top of the table with a perfect record.

His decision underscores a strong sense of belonging to the club, which has undergone a change in direction under new head coach Ignazio Abate. Biraghi is expected to play a key role both on and off the pitch as Torino look to build momentum, starting with their fixture against Roma.

Maleh speaks on Lecce stay and midfield competition

Lecce midfielder Youssef Maleh addressed the media following his team’s victory over Monza, discussing his decision to remain at the club despite opportunities to leave on loan. “There was something because it was not my intention to go out on loan, but now I am here and I want to give my best for the team,” Maleh said. He noted that the current tactical system suits his style of play and emphasised that squad depth in midfield is a positive factor, with team results taking priority over individual roles.

According to TuttoSport, clubs in the UAE Pro League have shown interest in the Polish forward, who has struggled with recurring injuries during his time in Turin. A move would represent a fresh start for the former Napoli player, who has found it difficult to secure consistent playing time under the Juventus setup.

Sky Sport reports that Turkish club Trabzonspor has made initial exploratory contact with the former Milan and Al Nassr coach. The club is looking for a change after a difficult start to the season, and Pioli’s experience in Serie A and European competition makes him a candidate to lead the project.

Valencia dismisses Corberán and Gourlay after poor start

Valencia has sacked head coach Carlos Corberán and CEO Ron Gourlay after collecting just one point from the first five La Liga matches. The club, currently bottom of the table, announced the departures as the atmosphere around Mestalla has grown increasingly tense. The decision marks a significant shake-up in both the sporting and executive areas, with the club seeking an immediate turnaround.
