Dutch Response and Safety Advice

The Netherlands’ Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR) has stated that it has not yet received a request to deploy to Venezuela but is monitoring the situation. Deployment would depend on a decision by the Dutch government.

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported no indications of Dutch casualties at this time and stands ready to provide consular assistance if necessary. The Dutch embassy in Caracas has advised Dutch nationals in Venezuela to seek safe locations away from damaged buildings and to stay in open spaces. They also recommend informing family and friends of their whereabouts and shutting off gas and electricity supplies for safety.
