Parma Begin Pre-Season Camp in Trentino Amid Transfer Stalemate and Renewal Talks

The on-field work comes against a backdrop of stalled contract renewals and potential departures that could reshape the squad before the transfer window closes. Sporting director Alessandro Pettinà has publicly downplayed the pressure, but the club faces delicate negotiations with two key players and interest from Juventus in at least two members of the current roster.

Contract standoff: Bernabé and Delprato

The most pressing issues involve midfielder Adrian Bernabé and captain Enrico Delprato. According to sources close to the club, Bernabé has rejected the latest renewal offer from Parma and reiterated his desire to be sold. The Spanish playmaker, who has been a regular under Cuesta, appears determined to leave this summer, and the club may now have to accept a transfer rather than risk losing him on a free next year.

Delprato’s situation is different. The captain, who has been with Parma through promotion and Serie A consolidation, feels the club has not shown him sufficient respect during negotiations. Reports indicate that talks will have to restart from scratch, with the defender expecting a more substantial offer that reflects his status and contribution. Pettinà, however, has tried to calm the mood, telling La Gazzetta di Parma: “We approach renewals very calmly. The expiration issue is frankly overblown in Italy; there are great players who stay until the end of their contract and renew the day after the natural expiry. We don’t see it as a priority or a source of pressure.”

Despite the director’s words, the reality is that both situations could drag into the latter part of the window, limiting Parma’s ability to plan incoming moves.

Juventus circling: Pellegrino and Suzuki

On the outbound front, two players are attracting serious interest from Juventus. Forward Mateo Pellegrino has been a target for the Bianconeri for weeks, and negotiations are progressing toward a conclusion. The Argentine striker is seen as a potential backup for Dušan Vlahović and could move to Turin if the two clubs can agree on a fee.

More intriguing is the case of goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. The Japanese international has emerged as a secondary option for Juventus, who are also pursuing Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez. The Villans have demanded a high price for the Argentina international, and Juventus are now reconsidering alternative targets. Suzuki, who impressed in Serie A last season, has a reported price tag of €30 million. Aston Villa themselves had previously lined up Suzuki as a replacement for Martínez, but if the Argentine stays in Birmingham, the path could clear for Juventus to move for the Parma shot-stopper.

Parma are not actively looking to sell Suzuki, but a €30 million offer would be difficult to refuse, especially given that the club needs to raise funds for reinforcements.

Benedyczak close to permanent Kasimpasa move

The first exit is likely to be Adrian Benedyczak. The Polish forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Kasimpasa in Turkey, where he rediscovered his form and goal-scoring touch. A permanent transfer is now in advanced stages, with the Turkish club expected to finalise the deal in the coming days.

Benedyczak’s departure will be the first of several sales that, combined with the resolution of the Bernabé and Delprato renewals, should unlock Parma’s own incoming transfer activity. The club has so far made only one signing – goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara – and is waiting to see which players leave before pursuing targets for Cuesta.
