Agent Questions Juventus’ Transfer Market Strategy, Praises Paratici

“I continue not to understand Juventus’s market,” Canovi stated, expressing his bewilderment despite his professional respect for Juventus’s football director, Cristiano Giuntoli. “They seem to be only thinking about the attack, but the squad needs players of value in both defence and midfield.”

Canovi believes that this perceived lack of strategic direction has been an issue for the Turin club for several years. “For many years, things have not been clear in the Bianconeri camp, particularly since Marotta left. They continue to make the same mistakes.”

“That Paratici is an excellent sporting director is proven,” Canovi affirmed. “He is also accustomed to spending a lot, as was the case at Juventus. When you have the money, it is certainly easier to conduct market business, so bravo to him, but bravo to the club as well.” This suggests Canovi views Paratici as a competent executive capable of effective recruitment when provided with the necessary resources.

Ederson as a Potential Roma Target

The agent also commented on potential transfers involving other Italian clubs. Regarding AS Roma, he discussed the possibility of Ederson being a suitable replacement for Sekou Fofana, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United for a substantial fee.

“Ederson is a player I like a lot; he can do everything,” Canovi said. “He was one of the midfielders who recovered the most balls in the league, but at the same time, he has the class to provide many assists and score many goals. I am convinced that Gasperini would also approve of this potential deal.”

The potential transfer of Fofana, valued at around 50 million euros, was seen by Canovi as another indicator of the decreasing quality of the Italian league, with many Italian clubs needing to sell players due to financial pressures.
