Spalletti Pushes for Vlahovic Renewal Amidst Transfer Speculation

Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti is reportedly intensifying efforts to secure a contract renewal for star striker Dusan Vlahovic. With other high-profile transfer targets like Bernardo Silva and Alisson failing to materialize, Spalletti is determined to retain his key forward and prevent him from leaving on a free transfer.

Spalletti’s Determination

The Italian manager, having seen potential reinforcements slip away, is prioritizing Vlahovic’s long-term commitment to Juventus. This stance puts pressure on Juventus CEO Damien Comolli, who is tasked with mending his relationship with the coach through this crucial operation. The success or failure of Vlahovic’s renewal could significantly impact the dynamic between Comolli and Spalletti.

Contractual Sticking Points

Comolli is expected to present Vlahovic with a contract proposal that includes a two-year deal worth €6 million per season, plus a signing bonus of €2-3 million. However, the Serbian international is reportedly seeking an annual salary of €8 million. The primary obstacle in negotiations appears to be the significant commission demands from Vlahovic’s father, who is now acting as his son’s agent. These commissions are understood to be around €10 million.

While the negotiations are described as difficult, they are not deemed impossible. Juventus anticipates that Vlahovic himself may need to compromise on some of his demands to reach an agreement.

Interest from Serie A Rivals

Despite the ongoing renewal talks, Juventus is not the only club monitoring Vlahovic’s situation. Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Napoli are all reportedly keeping a close eye on the striker’s contract status and are prepared to make their own assessments should he become available.

Vlahovic’s Allegiance

Reports suggest that Vlahovic has previously assured Juventus that he would not move to another Serie A club if he were to depart. However, the unpredictable nature of the transfer market means that such promises can often be revisited.

Why This Matters for FootballGames10 Readers

The contract situation of Dusan Vlahovic is of significant interest to fans of Juventus and Serie A as a whole. His future directly impacts the competitive balance of the league, with his potential departure potentially strengthening rival clubs. For Juventus, securing Vlahovic’s renewal would be a major boost, solidifying their attacking options and demonstrating their ambition. The outcome of these negotiations will be closely watched as it could influence transfer strategies across Italy’s top flight.
